Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is a mission-critical fundraising effort.
|
All private non-profit schools in the U.S. rely on an Annual Fund as a crucial part of their budget as tuition does not cover the entire cost of a student’s education. |
We strive for 100% participation from our employees and current parents. |

The Annual Fund is the cornerstone of philanthropy at DIS, providing critical support to the School’s operating budget for the current fiscal year. It helps cover the difference between tuition and the actual cost of a DIS education. It augments curriculum development, faculty salaries and benefits, and it serves as an expression of thanks, appreciation, and confidence in our faculty and staff for all that they do to enrich the lives of our children.
The Annual Fund supports fundraising initiatives established by the Development Office in collaboration with the HOS and the CFO to prioritize the most immediate and greatest needs of the school. Each year, the DIS Annual Fund provides the capital to support priorities that arise - whether in programs, faculty needs, or facilities. Simply put, the Annual Fund is core to our annual finances and essential to a DIS education. A DIS education is only possible through annual operating gifts beyond tuition. Annual Fund gifts immediately impact the student experience and allow the school to respond to prioritized needs thoughtfully and effectively.
Sustaining Outstanding Academics
Your generosity to the Annual Fund ensures that DIS is able to sustain its outstanding academic program. Giving to the Annual Fund supports small class sizes, where students work more closely with their teachers and peers, and enables faculty to develop fresh and innovative courses and explore new pedagogical approaches. Every program and every student benefits, contributing to an educational experience that will inspire today’s curious DIS students to become tomorrow’s confident leaders. The faculty at DIS are experts in their discipline and invest in sharing that passion with their students. As a school that values educators, we want to honor their expertise and investment with compensation that supports a decent quality of life in the Dallas-Ft. Worth greater metroplex area, so 70% of the school’s annual operating budget is used for employee compensation and benefits.
The DIS Annual Fund supports our student experience in every way - from academics and language instruction to aviation and athletics. While the specific needs each year may vary, our mission remains the same. Your gifts help us exemplify our mission.
