Uniforms & Spirit Wear

There are three options for purchasing uniforms for the 2024-25 school year. The school's logo is in the process of being updated with all three vendors. Both logos ("D" with globe and "Dallas International School") are acceptable. The older "D" logo will continue to be accepted going forward. There are no changes to the gym uniform for Waterview.

Lands' End runs frequent sales throughout the year and you can subscribe to sales by email or text. The preferred school number is 900109398. There are two Lands' End stores, one on Park Lane in Dallas and one on Preston Road in Frisco, where they have some uniform blanks for fitting but the store does not carry DIS uniform items in stock.

Lands' End has most uniform items, but is not a vendor of the plaid uniform jumper or skirt (note: plaid skirt is for grades 5-12 only), not a vendor for the gym uniform (t-shirt and mesh shorts) for grades 5-12, and does not sell the navy blue oxford shirts that are for grades 11 and 12 only.

Tommy Hilfiger is a vendor of all uniform items with the exception of the navy blue oxford shirts that are for grades 11 and 12 only. Their site sells the plaid uniform jumper and plaid skirt (plaid skirt is for grades 5-12 only) and also the gym uniform for grades 5-12 at Waterview.

Dennis Uniform is in the process of updating to the most recent logo on apparel. The store location in Plano (700 Alma Drive #112) is under new management and the store is closed on Sundays and Fridays. The store has items in stock for DIS that have the older logo and there is no indication of when the new logo will be in production. The store carries the navy oxford shirts for grades 11 and 12 only. The store also carries the gym uniform for grades 5-12 only.

For incoming CM2/5th grade students: The skirt uniform changes to plaid at the Waterview campus. CM2 students do not wear navy skirts or skorts as uniform. The gym uniform is the gray Tigres t-shirt and navy mesh shorts.

Please note that uniform socks can be purchased through any uniform store. Uniform footwear can be purchased through any store or website as long as footwear adheres to the uniform guidelines as mentioned in the Uniform Policy.

Spirit Days are every Friday and students at both campuses can either wear a Dallas International School spirit t-shirt or a uniform shirt.

Tax-free weekend is Friday, August 9th to Sunday, August 11th, 2024 in Texas. Uniforms, footwear, and school supplies are sales tax-free during these two days, both in-store and online. This includes online vendors such as Amazon.

School Uniforms for 2025-2026

  • School Uniforms can be purchased through two vendors: Lands' End or Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger).
  • Both uniform vendors carry most of the uniforms for each grade level.
  • Lands' End carries the Tigres hoodie, for all sizes.
  • Lands' End and Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger) have a selection of fleece jackets, cardigan sweaters, and sweater vests for purchase for all grade levels. Any sweaters, sweater vests or fleeces that are worn inside the building during the day should have the DIS logo:
  • Lands' End (Sole vendor of navy shirts for grades 11 & 12)
  • Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger) (Sole vendor of plaid uniform skirts for grades 5-12)

Waterview Campus
(CM2/5th grade through Terminale/12th grade)

For girls entering CM2/5th grade, the day-to-day uniform is either a white polo shirt or oxford shirt with the plaid skirt option or navy shorts or pants. Navy skorts and navy skirts are not part of the uniform at Waterview, as they are at Churchill. There is also no peter pan collar shirt at Waterview, nor red tie. The plaid skirts can be purchased through Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger). Footwear can be either the Keds saddle shoes (named School Days Keds Sneaker with navy), all black sneakers of choice (brand logo should be black with black sole), all white sneakers of choice (brand logo should be white with white sole). Socks should either be navy blue or black. Leggings are permitted in cooler weather but should be worn with the uniform skirt and be navy blue or white. For school photo days the uniform shirt is the white oxford shirt for girls.

For boys entering CM2/5th grade, the day-to-day uniform is a white polo shirt (any fabric) or oxford shirt with navy shorts or navy pants. Footwear can be all black sneakers of choice (brand logo should be black with black sole) or all white sneakers of choice (brand logo should be white with white sole). Socks should either be navy blue or black. The striped tie that was worn on school photo days at Churchill is not worn at Waterview. For school photo days, the uniform shirt is the white oxford shirt.

Gym class will be held two days a week in CM2/5th grade. There is a separate gym uniform that will be worn twice a week and can be purchased through Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger). Gym attire is a gray t-shirt and navy mesh shirts for all students. If a student's gym class is in the morning, students can come to school dressed in gym attire. Students should bring their uniform clothes to school in a bag to change into uniform following gym class. Athletic sneakers of choice can be worn for gym class.

For grades 6-8, the uniform shirt is still white and either a white polo shirt (cotton or dry-fit) or white oxford shirt can be worn for the day-to-day. An oxford shirt (long or short sleeve) should be worn on school photo days. For uniform bottoms, students can wear the plaid skirt, navy short or navy pants. The sock and shoe options remain the same as in CM2/5th grade, with navy blue or black socks and all black sneakers of choice (brand logo should be black with black sole) or all white sneakers of choice (brand logo should be white with white sole).

For entering 9th graders, the color of the uniform shirt changes to a light blue oxford. There is no polo version of the shirts in grades 9-12 at DIS. The light blue oxford is worn in grades 9 and10 only.
For 9th & 10th grade girls, there is a light blue oxford shirt in long or short sleeve and a 3/4 sleeve option. For the every day, girls should wear an oxford shirt with either a plaid skirt or gray pants or navy shorts. Socks should be navy or black. Footwear can either be a saddle shoe, all black sneaker (brand logo and sole need to be black) or all white sneaker (brand logo and sole need to be white).
For 9th & 10th grade boys, there is a light blue oxford shirt in long or short sleeves. Boys wear gray pants, or navy shorts are permitted in grades 9 and 10 for hot days, and socks should be navy or black. Footwear can either be an all black sneaker (brand logo and sole need to be black) or all white sneaker (brand logo and sole need to be white).

Grades 11 & 12 wear a navy oxford with gray pants. The navy shirts for girls and boys can be purchased online through Lands' End or Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger). Both uniform vendors carry gray pants.

Gym class is one day per week. All grades have gym class with the exception of the 11th and 12th IB Diploma Program students. The gym uniform is the same as the previous year and can be purchased through Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger) and is the gray athletics t-shirt and navy mesh shorts. Students will need to bring a bag with a change of clothes to the uniform. For PE class, students can wear an athletic sneaker of choice and should change into the uniform sneaker afterwards if they have regular class following PE.
