Welcome to Dallas International School, Home of "Les Tigres." Through participation in athletics, our goal is to develop a competitive character in our student athletes. As a member of an athletic team, students will learn to be strong leaders, communicators, and hard workers - and learn to achieve one common goal as a team.
Athletics and physical exercise are key parts of our fundamental approach to education, helping our students to become more prepared in mind and body for the rigors of our academics. Learning and practicing sportsmanship on and off the field contributes to a strong team approach to learning in all areas.
Athletics provides the opportunity for student athletes to exhibit a progression of physical skills and knowledge of a particular sport, enabling them to apply these skills and knowledge to new situations in a variety of learning formats.
Traditions
Dallas International School provides student athletes with an array of athletic programs and extracurricular sports. Through athletics, students learn the importance of commitment to a team, perseverance through adversity and how to demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off of the field. Our athletic programs challenge our student athletes mentally, physically and emotionally, and provide educational, as well as daily life, experiences.
Dallas International School has been a member of the YMCA, Chamber, and SVAA recreational leagues for more than 15 years and has been a competitive force and winner of several league titles, all of which are proudly on display in the trophy case at DIS. We are members of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) so we compete at a higher level against other schools and develop traditions that will be passed on for generations.
Dallas International School is also a member of the Independent Athletic Association (IAA) for our Middle School students, grades 5-8 and our 7-8 grade teams have won the Soccer title in 2011, 2014 and 2015 while appearing in every final since 2011. DIS also holds State Soccer titles for 2016/17 and 2019-2021. Dallas International is also a member of the Junior Independent Athletic Association (JIAA) for our 3-6 grade students.
TIGRES Athletic Booster Club:
The DIS Tigres Athletic Booster Club is a volunteer organization made up of dedicated parents committed to offering their time and energy to promote school and athletic spirit, support DIS sports teams, and ensure that every athletic event is a success. In addition to volunteering time, the Booster Club also provides funding to enhance all DIS sports teams. Dallas International School student-athletes and coaches directly benefit from the volunteer and financial support of the Booster Club, and we encourage ALL parents of Dallas International School student-athletes to join. If you would like to join or would like more information on the Tigres Booster Club, please contact Sergio Franklin, sfranklin@dallasinternationalschool.org

Athletics in the News
Waterview Campus winter sports are now open for enrollment in the Tuition Management portal. All athletes must enroll in their activity before November 1. There will be a $50 administration fee if DIS registers any student for winter sports. All winter sports will run from November 1 - February 28.
Develop key multiple athletic skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and game strategy with a focus on small-sided games and teamwork. DIS Saturday Sports is free to all DIS students enrolled in Churchill Campus athletics (competitive or multi-sport).
Last week, the Middle School Soccer Blue Team took an impressive victory in their game against Levine Academy, winning 5-0. The team played extremely well together, and Coach Phil inspired players up until the final moments of the game for the big win.
We are excited to announce that DIS will finish the season with 15 or 18 points, securing their place in the playoffs regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's (10/22) away game against Burton Adventist. The team's first playoff match will be an away game against Christian Heritage Classic School on Thursday, October 24 at 6pm.
