School Uniforms

School Uniforms can be purchased through two vendors: Lands' End or Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger). Both uniform vendors carry most of the uniforms for each grade level.

Lands' End carries the Tigres hoodie, for all sizes. 

Lands' End and Global Schoolwear (Tommy Hilfiger) have a selection of fleece jackets, cardigan sweaters, and sweater vests for purchase for all grade levels. Any sweaters, sweater vests or fleeces that are worn inside the building during the day should have the DIS logo.

Lands' End offers frequent sales throughout the year. Families may sign up for sale notifications by email or text. Two local stores are available for sizing assistance:

  • Dallas (Park Lane)
  • Frisco (Preston Road)

Please note that these stores carry limited uniform samples for fitting purposes and do not stock DIS-logo uniform items.
  • Global Schoolwear carries most DIS uniform items, including:
  • Plaid jumpers
  • Plaid skirts (Grades 5–12 only)
  • PE uniforms (Grades 5–12)
  • Sole vendor for navy oxford shirts (Grades 11–12)

Uniform Requirements by Grade Level

Grade 5 (CM2)  
Girls Boys
  • White polo shirt or white oxford shirt
  • Plaid skirt, navy shorts, or navy pants
  • Navy skorts and navy skirts are not part of the Waterview uniform
  • White oxford shirt required for school photos
  • White polo shirt or white oxford shirt
  • Navy shorts or navy pants
  • White oxford shirt required for school photos
Grades 6-8  
Girls Boys
  • White polo shirt or white oxford shirt
  • Plaid skirt, navy shorts, or navy pants
  • White polo shirt or white oxford shirt

* For school photos, all students should wear a white oxford shirt.

Grades 9-10  
Girls Boys
  • Light blue oxford shirt (short sleeve, long sleeve, or ¾ sleeve)
  • Plaid skirt, gray pants, or navy shorts
  • Light blue oxford shirt (short or long sleeve)
  • Gray pants or navy shorts

* The Uniform shirt changes to a light blue oxford shirt. Polo shirts are not part of the Upper School uniform.

 

Grades 11-12

* Navy oxford shirts may be purchased through either Lands' End or Global Schoolwear.

 

Footwear and Socks for all Grade Levels

Approved Footwear
  • All-black sneakers with black logos and black soles
  • All-white sneakers with white logos and white soles

Girls may also wear:

  • Keds "School Days" saddle shoes (navy)
Socks
  • Navy blue or black socks
Leggings
  • Girls may wear navy or white leggings under uniform skirts during cooler weather.

Physical Education Uniform

Students in Grades 5–10 participate in PE and should purchase the DIS PE uniform through Global Schoolwear.

PE Uniform:

  • Gray athletics t-shirt
  • Navy mesh shorts

Students may wear athletic sneakers of their choice for PE.

If PE is scheduled in the morning, students may arrive in PE uniform and bring their regular uniform to change into afterward. Students should return to standard uniform footwear following PE if they have academic classes.

Students in the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12) do not participate in PE.

 

Spirit Fridays

Students may wear:

  • DIS spirit shirts (Country of the Year, DIS Athletics, etc.)
  • Jeans
  • Sneakers of choice

Jeans must be neat and free of rips or tears.
