Dallas International School students will now have the opportunity to select the Pre-IB Diploma Preparatory Program at the Waterview Campus in their 9th and 10th grade years, leading to the full IB concentration in the 11th and 12th grades. DIS now offers Pre-IB bilingual options for French, Mandarin, Spanish, and German. The 9 Pre-IB and 10 Pre-IB bilingual track at Dallas International School is designed to prepare students for the more specialized and rigorous requirements of the International Baccalaureate Bilingual Diploma programme, which is offered in 11th and 12th grades.
The only school offering the IB Advanced Bilingual Diploma (ABD). This diploma better showcases the unique bilingual profile of our students and distinguishes them from the regular IB diploma graduates.

DIS provides language instruction in French, English, Spanish, Chinese and German. DIS is the unique school in Dallas delivering a bilingual education from preschool through 12th grade, culminating in either the French Baccalauréat or the Advanced Bilingual International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Dallas International School organizes trips to give its students an opportunity to enhance and support their curriculum. As an international school, the trips often comprise visits to foreign countries.
The small number of students in each class allows the teachers to focus more on personal development of the individual student.
Cultural diversity is celebrated through Country of the Year, class trips and the International Exchange Program. As part of the French school network and IB World Schools network, DIS students may travel and study for a determined length of time in one of the sister schools around the world.

High school students are also encouraged to take AP Exams in addition to the FB or IB exams, DIS being a certified Exam Center by the College Board.
Applicants whose applications are complete will have a scheduled interview with the IB Coordinator and the Head of Secondary. The interview is conducted either in-person at our Waterview Campus or via video conference.
The Director of Admissions will schedule a meeting with the applicant’s parents and conduct a tour.
Applicants will be required to take and pass tests in specific subject areas such as English, Mathematics, and Foreign Languages.

Foreign language -> B2 level
*The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. Prerequisite to be admitted in the 9preIB Bilingual preparation programme is B2 level.
B2 Level: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
