This was the last week of MAP workshops for the fall session, so we hope you were able to attend. It was so encouraging to see the data from our students, and we hope that you all gained more insight into how to interpret your child’s MAP scores.
We have finished the first quarter of this academic year, and we were glad to have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with you this week. If you were unable to meet with any of the teachers, please feel free to reach out to them directly to set something up. We deeply value the partnership between home and school, so thank you for taking the time to meet this week.
On Thursday evening, we welcomed prospective families to our Waterview Campus. It was exciting to see the interest in our middle school International Program, and we look forward to seeing our community grow. Help us spread the word that DIS can now accept students who do not speak French from 5th grade and up.
This morning, while parents met with teachers during parent-teacher conferences, our Aviation students visited the CR Smith Museum in Fort Worth. The museum is operated by American Airlines and today was their Aviation Career Day for high school students. It is an annual event where students are introduced to all the careers that aviation has to offer. Students had the opportunity to speak with many aviation professionals to get an insight into interesting careers.
On Tuesday, we celebrated our interculturalism with a presentation on Diwali, the Festival of Lights, celebrating light over darkness. We all enjoyed some tasty treats. It is so appreciated when members of our community share about different cultures and passions, and we extend a special thank you to Dr. Shamita Trivedi, and her family, for the beautiful presentation to our middle school classes.
