On Sunday, December 2, 2018, DIS and the Alliance Française de Dallas held the fifth annual Marché de Noël (Christmas Market) at the Dallas International School's Waterview campus.
The only French-style Christmas market in the DFW metroplex, the Marché de Noël broke previous records, opening its doors to over 70 local vendors and sponsors, and welcoming over 4,000 visitors, ready to sample some of the city's finest French snacks, art, crafts and local products.
Throughout the day, visitors were treated to entertainment and performances by Lone Star Circus, the Russian School of Dallas, UTD Power Dancers, and DIS's own art department, showcasing their choir and dancing skills. We also included a special children's area which included a petting zoo, face painting, letters to Santa, and photo sessions with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Our DIS community was out in full force, thanks to the Athletics Booster Club, 8th grade students raising funds for their annual Washington DC trip, Fourniti for buildON, and the DIS Bookfair. Our sponsor list continues to grow every year, and this year included Dallas Child Magazine, FC Dallas, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Camp iHope Foundation, La Madeleine, Lavendou Restaurant, Lone Star Circus, and Danone.
A big thank you to our star photographers, moms, Anne-Sophie Jollant and Luna Lu, for their event photography. We even had a special visit from the Dallas Morning News this year, who shot some photos that they plan to use to promote the Marché in next year's line up of things to do for the 2019 Holiday Season!
