Proficiency Tests

Test de Connaissance du Francais
The Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF), designed by the CIEP (Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques) and accredited by the French Ministry of Education, is a French language proficiency test for non-native speakers of French who wish to evaluate their competence and have their level of proficiency certified for professional, academic or personal reasons.

The Language Institute of Dallas International School is a CIEP approved exam center for the Test de Connaissance du Français. The test is offered at the Language Institute twice a year. The versions of the TCF offered at the Language Institute are:

  • The TCF Tout Public
    Can be taken by anyone who wishes to have his/her French language skills assessed for personal or professional reasons.

  • The TCF Québec (TCFQ)
    This test can only be taken by people who submit an immigration application at a Quebec immigration office or at Délégations Générales du Québec, Quebec government offices abroad.

  • The TCF Accès à la Nationalité Française (TCF ANF)
    As of January 2012, applicants for French citizenship are required to take the TCF pour l'Accès à la Nationalité Française.

Preparing for the Test

The Language Institute offers TCF Preparation courses in both group and private settings. The private courses may be set up at any time to coincide with your availability. Group course at various levels are scheduled throughout the year.

Enrollment forms must be received at least 30 days before the exam date. To register for the TCF please fill out the enrollment form and email it back to: languages@dallasinternationalschool.org.
