Ecole du Samedi is an immersion program designed to assist parents who wish to provide their children with a formal education in French. The program targets all students who can already communicate in French.
The classes meet on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During these three hours, the students will work on developing their skills in reading comprehension, writing and speaking. In addition, they will be introduced to major aspects of the French culture.
The Spring Session will run for 18 weeks, from January 14 to May 27. There will not be class on February 18 or April 15.
The students are placed in grade levels according to their age and their level of proficiency. The grade levels are set up as follows:
- Grande Section / Kindergarten
- CP / First Grade
- CE1 & CE2 /2nd & 3rd Grade
- CM1 & CM2 /4th & 5th Grade
The curriculum for Ecole du Samedi mirrors the curriculum of the DIS preschool and primary school. Our courses enrich and challenge children of all proficiency levels from beginner to native. We include language instruction as well as cultural and civilization components that draw from all subject disciplines.
The students will cover:
- Vocabulary and Conversation
- History and Culture
- Kindergarten and First Grade: $1134
- 2nd through Fifth Grade: $1188
A $50 registration fee per family applies. The registration fee is non-refundable unless we cancel the class.
HOW TO ENROLL
In order to enroll, you will need to complete one application form per child.
Your child’s enrollment will be completed once the application fee is paid.
There will be no refunds once the classes start.
Classes will need to have a minimum of five students enrolled in order to be confirmed.
