Admission Requirements

Preschool - Kindergarten (Maternelle)
Dallas International School welcomes applicants to its Pre-K2 (2 year old), Pre-K3 (3 years old), Pre-K4 (4 years old), or Kindergarten (5 years old). The birthdate cut-off for applicants entering DIS is December 31. Pre-K3 children must be fully potty-trained in order to begin school in August. Applicants for entering Pre-school through Kindergarten will be evaluated prior to being offered enrollment.
No evaluation is required of the applicants transferring from a French accredited school. ALL school records and current school year’s Certificat de Scolarité must be submitted.

Grades 1-5 (CP - CM2)
Approximately 70% of the subject courses are taught in French in grades 1 through 5. Applicants transferring from an accredited French school are welcomed to submit their applications along with a copy of their school records for the past two years, and Certificat de Scolarité by the January 31 deadline.
Applicants NOT transferring from an accredited French school will be assessed on three areas: knowledge and skills of their current grade level in English, knowledge of the French language, and their language learning aptitude. The result of the evaluation will be carefully reviewed by the Admission Committee to determine the ability of the applicant to successfully advance through the DIS curriculum and its progressive levels of skills. Applicants matriculating to DIS will need to furnish their last 2 years of report cards from their previous school.

Grades 6-8 (6ème - 4ème)
All main subject courses are taught in French in grades 6 through 8. Applicants transferring from an accredited French school are welcomed to submit their applications along with a copy of their school records for the past two years, and Certificat de Scolarité by the January 31 deadline.
Applicants NOT transferring from an accredited French school will be assessed on their level of French proficiency, and knowledge of the specific subject areas such as English, math, science and foreign languages in order to demonstrate the potential to successfully advance through the DIS curriculum. Applicants matriculating to DIS will need to furnish their last 2 years of report cards from their previous school.

Grades 9-12 (3ème - Terminale)
International Baccalaureate (IB): Language of instruction: English
Completed DIS Application Form
School Records (last three years of report cards)
2 teachers’ recommendation letters
Results of the standardized test scores -ISEE, TAKS, STAAR, etc. (if available)
Applicants whose applications are complete will be scheduled to have an interview with the IB coordinator. The interview is conducted either in person or through Skype video.
Applicants may also be required to take and pass tests in specific subject areas such as English, math, science and foreign languages.

11th & 12th grade applicants must indicate "S" or "ES" as their filière on the application
12th grade applicants must indicate their "enseignement de spécialité" on the application, and submit their Première (11th grade) grades.
