High School Standardized Testing

Dallas International School offers a comprehensive suite of assessments. Each year, students from 6th to 11th grade take a standardized test adapted to their level of knowledge.

PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is a test that will give students a chance to preview the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT and help them and their teachers figure out what they need to work on most to be successful. The PSAT 8/9 is a mandatory test taken by all 8th and 9th grade students.

PSAT/NMSQT

The PSAT/NMSQT is a great practice for the SAT because it tests the same skills and knowledge as the SAT, but in a way that makes sense for the students’ grade level. It provides score reports students can use to personalize their personal SAT practice.

The score reports also which AP exams students should consider taking. In addition, the National Merit Scholarship Program uses these scores to find eligible students. The PSAT/NMSQT is a mandatory test taken by all 10th and 11th grade students.

AP

By taking AP Exams and scoring successfully, students can save on college expenses: most colleges and universities nationwide offer college credits, advanced placement, or both, for qualifying AP Exam scores. These credits can allow students to save college tuition, study abroad, or secure a second major. Dallas International School offers students from 9th to 12th grade the possibility to take AP Exams if they wish to do so.

SAT School Day

The SAT tests help students navigate their path through high school toward college and career, and offers a range of unique benefits to students. The SAT are admission tests accepted by all U.S. colleges, and are crucial for college application. These tests provide consistent feedback across assessments to help students stay on course. Dallas International School offers the possibility to students to take the SAT test in school on a weekday. This enables students to take the test in a familiar environment, making it less stressful.
