Building a Kinder School Culture to Ultimately, a Kinder World.
As part of DIS’ commitment to nurture our student with the school’s core values of empathy, integrity, resilience, respect and responsibility, Waterview campus has spent this semester on a curriculum that focuses on helping the community be responsible for the growth of our students to become kind and compassionate individuals.
‘Between the challenging climate we are in, social media distractions coupled with the notion that academics and testing feel like the most important aspect of education for our middle and high school students, our student counseling team have designed sessions that focuses on stress and navigating adversity for both teachers and students to work on throughout the semester.
Each week, classes have been working on a Character Dare every week, a challenge for them to practice with the goal of helping students exercise one of the character traits deemed important at DIS.
We will continue to work together with our students and teachers to build a kinder school culture, and ultimately, a kinder world.
