DIS Retains Texas State Champions Title with 2:0 Victory.

The DIS Soccer Team Comes Home with TAPPS Victory Trophy For Second Consecutive Year.
 
It’s a victory once more on the Texas soccer playing field as the Tigers, the DIS soccer team is officially the state champion of 2020. Beating San Antonio Lutheran school 2:0 with both goals scored by Bennett Chia (12th grade), the team played a tremendous game against its opponents at Round Point Texas on Friday afternoon.
 
Sergio Franklin, Athletic Director at DIS said: “I am very excited for the team. They played really well. Everyone had an important part to play in the game and have generally worked very hard throughout to secure an undefeated season.  I am thrilled that the season is finally over. A big thank you to parents and supporters and a special shout out to Mr. Al Chia, Mr. Ed Ulbricht, Ms, Catherine and Ms. Clemence for all their support.”
 
Four players were also nominated by TAPPS for Most Valued Player (MVP) throughout the tournament. They were: Charles Habrard (12th grade), David Martinez (12th grade), Bennett Chia (12th grade) and William Haden (9th grade).
 
This is the 4th state championship title that Dallas International School soccer team has held in five years.
