DIS Student Uses Home Resources to Create and Deliver Face Shields to Ensure Safety During Unprecedented Times
Over the past few weeks, Dallas International School CE2 student, Kosei Kamura, has been actively working to make a difference in his community during these unprecedented times. Kosei has been making face shields using his own 3D printer and a template from the University of California, San Francisco that complies with the FDA guidelines regarding medical face masks and respirators.
Not stopping there, Kosei then delivered his face masks to the Plano Police Department and will soon be making some for DIS staff and faculty as we return to campus in the coming weeks. Wanting everyone to know how grateful he is for everything our front line workers and educators do daily, Kosei shares, “Thank you for your dedication, courage and commitment to keeping our community safe, especially during this pandemic. I hope my face shields help you stay safe and healthy.” DIS would like to give a very special thank you to Kosei for this grand gesture and his continuous interest in what's best for his community.
