High School

In high school, we foster a flourishing community of global citizens who are inquisitive, active, compassionate, lifelong learners, and who contribute to a more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

By offering the highest standard of educational excellence through the French and International Baccalaureate programs, Dallas International School students graduate with the confidence and knowledge gained from a highly rigorous, global education that can lead to careers around the world.

High School Curriculum

DIS offers two different tracks: the French Bac track and the International Baccalaureate track. DIS is the only private school in the Dallas area to offer the French Baccalaureate Program and the Advanced Bilingual IB Diploma program.

Dallas International High School Curriculum

Dallas International School is a Candidate School* for the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and Career-related Program (CP). Already authorized as an IB World School for the Diploma Program (DP), this school is pursuing further accreditation for the MYP and CP. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Dallas International School believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).  Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org

Experiential Learning

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE STUDENT PROGRAM

Dallas International School partners with the AEFE, MLF, and IBO offering a global network of schools to send students on exchange trips around the globe. DIS also welcomes students from other countries to Dallas to immerse in our community and in American culture. DIS students travel to Spain, France, Taiwan, and the many other locations that are available to them. Their host brother or sister then comes to Dallas.

High School Standardized Testing

Dallas International School offers a comprehensive suite of assessments. Each year, students from 6th to 11th grade take a standardized test adapted to their level of knowledge.

PSAT/NMSQT

The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholars Qualifying Test) is a standardized test that DIS offers to 10th and 11th grade students.

In addition, the National Merit Scholarship Program uses these scores to qualify eligible students.

SAT/ACT

The SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.

Dallas International School offers the possibility to students to take the SAT test in school on a weekday. This enables students to take the test in a familiar environment, making it less stressful and giving them the best chance of success.
