![]() Elementary School (Cycle 3)![]() Grade 3 Through Grade 5Cycle 3, named "In-depth Learning," is for children from eight to eleven years of age. Following the first two cycles, students in the third through fifth grades begin to extend their knowledge of the fundamentals of language and mathematics. It is in this cycle that students learn to combine their knowledge, experience and personal work habits, skills that are vital for junior high school. In Cycle 3, students become increasingly autonomous as a greater emphasis is placed on study and research methods. The study of science, history and geography is added to the subjects included in Cycle 2. Teachers further integrate elements from several subject matters as students increasingly discover the interconnectedness of various disciplines. Students are learning in French (60% of instructional time), in English (35% of instructional time) and in Spanish (5% of instructional time). Basic Curriculum:
