![]() Elementary School (Cycle 2)![]() Grade 1 Through Grade 2Cycle 2, named "Basic Learning Cycle," is for children from six to eight years of age. The main goal of this cycle is to ensure the instruction and comprehension of the fundamental skills. Teachers expand upon concepts which were introduced in the first cycle, solidifying the foundation needed for future academic success. Children learn to integrate their knowledge, know-how and personal working habits. In this cycle, children learn to read, write and communicate properly in both French and English. They have a Spanish class one hour per week. Students are introduced to geometry and problem solving techniques, an approach which develops logic skills at a young age. Further discovery of space, time and the environment are key objectives. Civics, the Arts and Physical Education round out the curriculum. Starting in 1st grade, students are learning in French (60% of instructional time), in English (35% of instructional time) and in Spanish (5% of instructional time). Basic Curriculum:
